On the point-wise J-value of axisymmetric plane cracks

A point-wise value of the J-integral for a radially expanding plane axisymm etric crack, which is path independent an yields the energy release rate, h as been derived from Eshelby's energy momentum tensor [8] taken in cylindri cal coordinates. In particular the area integral in the expression for J by Carpenter et al. [2] has not been found to be zero, as recently advanced b y Jonsson and Nilsson [7], but in agreement with results of others, e.g. Be rgkvist and Lan Huong [4].
