Abstract
Non-magnetic ions intercalated vanadyl phosphates (M(VOPO4)(2). 4H(2)O (M=C a2+, Ba2+, and Cd2+) have been studied. The structure of Ba(VOPO4)(2). 4H(2 )O has been refined in the conventional space group Pc. The magnetic proper ties as well as the thermal behaviour have been investigated for all compou nds. Antiferromagnetic interactions are present for the calcium and barium compounds while the cadmium derivative shows ferromagnetic interactions. (C ) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
