Abstract
Using powder X-ray diffraction, the pressure-volume (PV) data on Co6W6C wer e determined at ambient temperature and pressures up to 32 GPa with the fol lowing results: isothermal bulk modulus K-300,K-1, (GPa): 462(11); pressure derivative K'(300,1), (fixed): 4; molar volume V-300,V-1, (cm(3) mol(-1)): 97.43(2). Isobaric thermal expansion determined by in-situ X-ray diffracti on study at 1 atm is given by (K-1): alpha(T) =8.64(2)X 10(-5) +7.48(9)X 10 (-8)T-2.19(6)/T-2 (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A.
