Abstract
Excess molar enthalpies H-m(E) and excess molar volumes V-m(E) at T = 298.1 5 K and normal atmospheric pressure for the binary systems {xCH(3)(CH2)(3)C l+(1-x)CH3(CH2)(n-1)OH} (n = 4 to 8) have been determined using a Calvet mi crocalorimeter, and from density measurements using a vibrating-tube densim eter. The H-m(E) values for all the mixtures are positive, and V-m(E) value s are positive, or negative depending on the mole fraction of the chloroalk ane. Experimental H-m(E) results are compared with the predictions of UNIFA C group-contribution models considered by Tassios et al. and by Larsen et a l. (C)1999 Academic Press.
