Far. Van Den Broek et al., Genetic factors involved in cardiac calcification in STS/A and DBA/2 mouseinbred strains, J EXP ANIM, 39(4), 1999, pp. 115-121
The occurrence of juvenile dystrophic cardiac calcification (DCC) has been
studied in an F2-intercross and backcross of DBA/2Ola and BALB/cOlaHsd mice
and in CcS/Dem recombinant congenic strains (RCS) and their STS/A and BALB
/cHeA parents. From the results of the F2-intercross and backcross it could
be concluded that two to four genes are involved in the DCC susceptibility
of the DBA/2Ola strain. Screening of the CcS recombinant congenic strains
indicated that at least one of these genes is located on the proximal end o
f Chromosome 7. This is in line with the results of IVANDIC et al. (1996) w
ho have previously found evidence for a major gene (Dyscalc) on Chromosome
7.
