Abstract
The ITER divertor power deposition database is described and analysed in th is paper. The database contains experimental measurements from the major di vertor experiments in L-mode and H-mode regimes. These measurements are use d to derive multi-machine scaling laws for the peak divertor heat flux and width, particularly of their machine size dependence. The physical basis fo r these scalings is discussed and the laws obtained are used to extrapolate from existing experiments to the parameters expected in the ITER-EDA devic e.
