Abstract
The reaction of the tungsten oxo acetylide complex Cp*W(O)(2)CCPh with Ru-4 (CO)(12-13)[mu(3)-PN(R)(2)] where R = 'Pr or Cy affords two oxo bridged met al clusters eta(5)-Cp*W(mu-O)Ru-4(CO)(9)(mu-CO)[mu(3)-eta(2)-P(O)N(R)(2)](m u(4)-eta(2)-CCPh) (2) and eta(5)-Cp*W(mu-O)(2)Ru-4(CO)(10)[mu(3)-PN(R)(2)]( mu(4)-eta(2)-CCPh) (3). X-ray analysis shows that 2 has a single W-O-Ru oxi de bridge and contains the first example of a diisopropylaminophosphinidoxo ligand while in 3 both oxide ligands bridge W-Ru bonds. The reaction of 3 with HBF4 Et2O forms the new W-F complex eta(5)-Cp*WF(mu(3)-O)HRu4(CO)(9)[m u(3)-eta(2)-P(O)N(R)(2)](mu(4)-eta(2)-CCPH) (4). (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. AU rights reserved.
