Abstract
During the fourth quarter of 1997, Phillips China Inc.(PCI) conducted a saf ety perception survey on three offshore facilities it operates in the South China Sea. The survey evaluated the work force and its perceived environme nt, health, and safety (EHS) performance, with emphasis on the influence of the different cultures and languages. Opportunities for improvement were i dentified, and an action plan was developed and implemented.
