Abstract
An 11-year-old German shepherd dog cross was presented with a six-week hist
ory of weight loss and abdominal distension. A diagnosis of abdominal absce
ss and discospondylitis was made. The dog responded to surgical excision of
the abscess and conservative medical treatment for discospondylitis.
