The elastic scattering cross sections and the analyzing powers for pi(+) an
d pi(-) from a C-13 target are calculated by solving the Schrodinger equati
on reduced from the Klein-Gordon equation. In doing so, kinematical variabl
es are redefined, local potentials are assumed, and the potential parameter
s are fixed to reproduce the experimental data. The calculated cross sectio
ns and the analyzing powers are compared with the observed data.
