Ms. Neely reviews some of the major aspects of modem American society, anal yzing how they promote or exhibit racial inequity and diversity-related unr est. She then explores the significance of the state of race relations in t hese overarching areas of society for the practice of librarianship. She co ncludes by offering several strategies for change.
