In this paper the behaviour of centrifugal forces in neutron stars is discu
ssed. It is demonstrated that centrifugal force inversion can occur fbr neu
tron stars, although most realistic equations of state do not allow this to
happen. The general behaviour of centrifugal forces and angular momentum t
ransfer for very massive and compact neutron stars (with and without centri
fugal force inversion) is presented graphically. This leads eventually to a
n innovative treatment of the glitch phenomenon in neutron stars.
