Sw. Yang et Wk. Chin, Mechanical properties of aligned long glass fiber reinforced polypropylene. II: Tensile creep behavior, POLYM COMP, 20(2), 1999, pp. 207-215
The creep behavior of long glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite w
as investigated under different constant tensile stress and temperature. Fr
om the time-dependent strain curve, the critical creeping time was defined
as the transition point from steady to unsteady deformation and measured co
rrespondingly. A statistical Weibull distribution function was adopted to d
escribe the critical creeping time distribution at each stress level. A pow
er law was employed to analyze the behavior of steady deformation stage of
strain during loading. The relation between the critical creeping time and
the parameter (m) of the power law is analyzed and discussed.
