Abstract
Strain and strength in uniaxial compression have been examined for specimen s with various densities made by uniaxial pressing of thermally expanded gr aphite powders, which have been produced by the heat treatment of intercala ted graphite compounds. Low-density graphite specimens formed at 600 degree s C have the highest strain resistance.
