Yl. Mo et Jm. Hwang, SEISMIC RESPONSE OF REINFORCED-CONCRETE BUILDINGS CLOSE TO DEEP EXCAVATION, Computer methods in applied mechanics and engineering, 145(1-2), 1997, pp. 117-134
Ground settlements induced by deep excavation are predicted by the ana
lysis of soil-structure interaction, and the seismic response analyses
of reinforced concrete buildings with settlements are performed based
on the proposed analytical model. Also, the seismic response, the eff
ect of variations in the material strengths of steel and concrete and
settlement type are studied. II is found that the proposed analytical
model can well be employed for such evaluation; normal variation in st
eel yield stress can significantly affect the roof displacements and m
odified flexural damage ratios of the example frame; the roof displace
ments with the settlement type of smooth asymptote are greater than th
ose with concave downward asymptote.
