Abstract
We present a new method for measuring low birefringence in optical fiber. T his method is based in the twist to fiber used the Sagnac interferometer to optical fiber, it's very simple and does not require use polarization ligh t. A fiber section of a length shorter than the polarization beat length ca n be used for measurement. Experimental results for an optical fiber with a beat length of 2.3 m are presented.
