Abstract
Our systematic investigations into the kinetics of reactions of porphyrins with metal chelate compounds were continued. It was shown that planar porph yrins do not interact with metal dithizonates because of the rigid macrocyc lic effect (MCE). N-Alkylporphyrins with a reduced MCE react with dithizona tes of some metals with a measurable rate. The conditions for the occurrenc e of the reaction between zinc dithizonate Zn(D-2)(2) and N-methyltetraphen ylporphine in DMSO were studied. Kinetic parameters of the reaction were fo und. The possible reaction mechanism is discussed.
