Parameters of Voronoi-Dirichlet polyhedra are calculated for 133 crystallog
raphic sorts of cesium atoms in chlorides of the Cs(x)Q(y)Cl(z) (Q = metal)
type. The coordination numbers of Cs with respect to the chlorine atoms ar
e found to be 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. It is established that, irrespective
of the Cs coordination number, the radius of its spherical domain with vol
ume equal to the volume of the Voronoi-Dirichlet polyhedron is equal to 2.0
7(5) Angstrom. The coordination spheres of cesium atoms are analyzed by the
method of crossing spheres, and the results are presented. It is found fro
m this analysis that the metal-metal interactions (including Cs-Cs) occur i
n the structures of some chlorides.
