Abstract
Sulfonomethyl derivatives of aldos-2-ulosonic acids have been synthesized b y addition of the ethyl methanesulfonate carbanion to aldonolactones. A sul fonylated mimic molecule of the sialyl Lewis X tetrasaccharide has been pre pared by using a new sulfonomethyl ulosonic acid analogue. (C) 1999 Publish ed by Elsevier Science Ltd.
