Abstract
The reaction of chromium alkyl(alkoxy)carbenes with propargylic alcohols ha s been investigated under thermal and ultrasound conditions. Both sets of d eveloped conditions provide rapid access to alkyl-substituted p-lactone pro ducts. which also possess enol ether functionality, from readily available starting materials.
