Abstract
The reaction of beta,gamma-unsaturated esters and nitriles with camphor dis elenide and ammonium persulfate in methanol, ethylene glycol or water affor ds enantiomerically enriched gamma-alkoxy or gamma-hydroxy alpha,beta-unsat urated derivatives, respectively, in good chemical yields and with moderate to good enantioselectivity.
