Abstract
A modern control strategy including controller design and system output mod ification is illuminated by application to feedback control of a carded web control system. Since the carded web system is a type-zero plant, an integ rator in the feedforward path between the error comparator and the plant is inserted to improve the system type. A new controllability property is the key in the application of this kind of control system design technique. At the same time, the computer simulation result is proved by theoretical ana lysis. A performance comparison is made of the conventional controllers ver sus this modern control scheme, and the performance of the new control stra tegy is effectively demonstrated by computer simulations.
