Abstract
The thermal decomposition kinetics of solid Cd(S2CNR2)(2) complexes, where R=C2H5, n-C3H7, n-C4H9 and iSo-C4H9, has been studied using isothermal and non-isothermal thermogravimetry. Superimposed TG/DTG/DSC curves show that t hermal decomposition reactions occur in the liquid phase. The kinetic model that best adjusted the experimental isothermal TG data was the one-dimensi onal phase-boundary reaction controlling process R-1. The thermal analysis data suggest the thermal stability sequence Cd(S2CNBu2n)(2) > Cd(S2CNPr2n)( 2) > Cd(S2CNBu2n)(2) > Cd(S2CNEt2)(2), according to the order of stability of apparent activation energy.
