Thermochemical properties of dialkylammonium halides of the general formula
[(CnH2n+1)(2)NH2]X, where (X=Br, I and n=3 or 4) they were analyzed by the
methods of thermoanalysis (TG, DTG, DTA, DSC). The kinetic parameters were
studied using non-isothermal thermogravimetric curve. The lattice energy w
as obtained considering the contributions of the calorific capacity in soli
d phase and effects of polymorphic transitions that these compounds suffer
in the 0-298 K. The volatilization kinetics were analyzed by the method of
Ozawa, The results were according to the data of the literature using the s
tandard method, being verified that the value of activation energy was twic
ely that of volatilization enthalpy. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B,V. All rig
