The reaction between oligo(2-propenyloxy)methyloxirane with sulfur dioxide
in the presence of amines was studied. It was shown that, depending on the
reaction conditions, oligomeric sulfo acids, as well as crown polysulfonic
acids, can be synthesized. Crown polysulfonic acids are produced by the cop
olymerization of sulfur dioxide with the double bonds of an unsaturated oli
gomer.
