Abstract
Nicolas Andry was born in 1658 in Lyons, France, and had a long Parisian ca reer. He wrote a book entitled "L'orthopedie ou l'art de prevenir et de cor riger dans les enfants les difformites du corps" just before his death, whi ch was the first to use the term orthopedics.
