Abstract
Trabeculectomy surgery performed by an inexperienced physician may not have as good an outcome as the same surgery performed by an experienced surgeon , We undertook the present retrospective study at a training institution to determine whether adjunctive antimetabolite use might improve the outcomes in these surgeries. Our results showed that adjunctive use of 5-fluorourac il and mitomycin-C, when supervised by an experienced physician, may improv e final trabeculectomy outcomes at training institutions.
