Abstract
Reaction of the title methanesulfonate ester 1b with sodium azide gave derivatives 4 and 5 and with lithium tetrahydroaluminate the dialkyl compound 7, while with primary amines, in addition to the expected pro ducts (8a-r), compounds 9k-m possessing an unexpected ring system are obtained.
