Abstract
Graves' ophthalmopathy is an infiltrative disease of the orbit and randomiz ed trials show that radiotherapy should be the first treatment of choice. T his article describes how linear accelerators with independent collimation can be used for setting up purposes, in place of lead blocks, to shield the lens. This benefits the patient and radiographer by being quicker, more ac curate and easier to set up.
