Abstract
This paper describes a simple and convenient method for the preparation of substituted 1,2,4-trioxanes. The scope of the one-pot photooxidation of bet a-ionones has been extended to include derivatives bearings additional func tionalities in the beta-ionone ring. The relative stereochemistry of the pr oducts has been established by analysis of H-1 and C-13 NMR spectra.
