Abstract
In the present paper the use of CeO2-based materials in the automotive thre e-way catalysts (TWCs) is considered. The multiple roles of CeO2 as a TWC p romoter and in particular the oxygen storage/release capacity (OSC) are cri tically discussed. Attention is focused on the advanced OSC materials conta ining ZrO2, which are employed in the last generation of catalytic automoti ve converters. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
