Abstract
Reaction of linear triplatinum complexes, linear-[Pt-3(mu-dpmp)(2)(RNC)(2)] (PF6)(2) 1, with an excess of [NO][BF4] afforded an unprecedented nitrosyl- bridged double-A-frame triplatinum complexes, [Pt-3(mu-dpmp)(2)(mu-NO)(2)(R NC)(2)](BF4)(4) [2a: R = 2,6-xylyl; 2b: R = 2,4,6-mesityl, dpmp = bis(diphe nylphosphinomethyl)phenylphosphine], which were characterized by X-ray crys tallographic analysis and extended Huckel MO calculations.
