The Latin American species of the genus Corticeus Piller and Mitterpacher (Coleoptera : Tenebrionidae, hypophloeini). Part I. The species described by Reitter and Pic, and description of two new species

The seven Latin American species of Corticeus Piller and Mitterpacher (= Hy pophloeus Fabricius) described by Pie and Reitter are evaluated. Corticeus mexicanus Reitter = Hypophloeus meridanus Pie, new synonymy: Corticeus mexi canus Reitter = C. cylindricus Reitter, new synonymy and Corticeus rerratus Reitter, new synonymy; Corticeus ,mexicanus Reitter argentinus Pic = Hypop hloeus argentinus Pie, new status; Corticeus (= Hypophloeus) paulostriatus) Pic, new combination = Corticeus tensicollis Triplehorn, new synonymy; Hyp ophloeus dl(dufaui Pic = Iccius I rufotestaceus (Champion) [Tenebrionidae, Diaperini], new status. Two new Corticeus species are described: Corticeus notialis Bremer and Triplehorn, from Brazil and Peru, and Corticeus abditus Bremer and Triplehorn, from Brazil.
