Abstract
Nursery pig nutrition has undergone significant improvements in the past 5 years. With the advent of early-weaning procedures, proper nutrition has be come even more important. The early-weaned pig experiences tremendous gastr ointestinal and physiologic change; it is therefore important to match the levels of dietary ingredients with the genetic potential of the animal. Ano ther important factor is environmental management. Proper adjustment of ven tilation rates, density of pens, access to feeders and waterers, and enviro nmental temperature are critical components of weaned-pig management.
