Abstract
A simplified procedure of enantioselective ruthenium-catalyzed hydrogenatio n of functionalized ketones using commercially available [RuCl2(COD)](n), ( COD = cis,cis-cycloocta-1,5 diene) mixed with the chiral diphosphines (BINA P, MeO-BIPHEP, DuPHOS) is reported. Under these conditions, C=O groups were completely hydrogenated with excellent enantiomeric excesses (up to 39 %). (C) Academie des sciences/Elsevier, Paris.
