Pk. Gupta et al., Study of trace gas species including greenhouse gases over the Indian Ocean during INDOEX precampaign cruises of 1996, 1997 and 1998 on Sagar Kanya, CURRENT SCI, 76(7), 1999, pp. 944-946
Measurements of surface concentration of trace gas species including greenh
ouse gases, viz, CO, CH4, CO2, N2O have been carried out over the Indian Oc
ean region on board the research vessel Sagar Kanya (SK) from 4 January to
7 February 1996, 27 December 1996 to 31 January 1997 and 18 January to 31 M
arch 1998, respectively. The positive latitudinal gradient from south to no
rth has been observed for various measured trace species during the above p
re-campaigns. It could be attributed to the continental air-mass flow acros
s the Inter-Tropical Convergence zone (ITCZ).
