Abstract
Some 4-phenyl-1,8-naphthyridine derivatives with a piperazino group in the 2- and/or 7-position have been synthesized and evaluated for their tubercul ostatic activity. The compounds 1, 6, 10, 17b,c and 19i showed a marked act ivity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H(37)Rv. For this series of compou nds, submitted to biological screening, no structure-activity relationship can be deduced. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
