Abstract
The effects of sowing date, irrigation and spacing on nutrient uptake by gr oundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) were investigated at Kalyani during summer se ason of 1993 and 1994. Concentration of N, P and K in plant shoots decrease d steadily with the commencement of the reproductive phase. Sowing on 15 Fe bruary recorded significantly higher nutrient uptake and kernel yield than early or late sowings. Three irrigations given at first phase of flowering, pod initiation and pod development recorded higher nutrient uptake by both haulm and kernel. The crop sown at 25 cm x 12 cm spacing removed higher am ount nutrients than the crop sown at 50 cm x 6 cm spacing.
