Abstract
A theoretical model has been developed for three phase systems assuming lin ear now of the heat flux lines in body centered cubic structure of particle s. Expression for effective thermal conductivity (ETC) is obtained by apply ing resistor model and considering two phases to be solid and spherical in shape, while the third phase to be fluid phase. To take account of non line ar flow of heat flux lines expression for ETC is modified by incorporating an empirical correction factor in place of physical volume fraction of the phases, The validity of the derived expression, has been tested on specific ations of large number of samples cited in the literature. A satisfactory a greement is found between the theoretical results and experimental data. It is observed that reported expression for ETC exhibit much better results, in particular, for medium dispersion of the solid phases.
