A simple relation between bulk modulus, hardness, refractive index and ioni
city has been developed. The estimated bulk modulus values have then been u
sed to evaluate the values of Debye temperature. The results have been comp
ared with the corresponding values reported in literature. This procedure e
ventually allows to easily evaluate unknown bulk modulus and Debye temperat
ure from crystal parameters like hardness, refractive index, ionicity and i
nter-ionic separation. The results are in excellent agreement with the avai
lable experimental data.
