Genetically determined differences in interleukin-10 (IL-10) and gamma inte
rferon (IFN-gamma) responses in mice correlate viith clearance of Chlamydia
pneumonitis infection. We measured the synovial expression of IL-10 and IF
N-gamma and additional cytokine genes in patients who had recent onset Chla
mydia-associated arthritis (Chl-AA). IL-IO and IFN-gamma mRNA were relative
ly abundant in recent-onset Chl-AA.
