TEES-BARRAGE .2. DESIGN OF THE BARRAGE

This paper describes the main features, computer and physical modellin g, the engineering design and those matters which had an important inf luence over either technical or practical aspects of the design of the final barrage structure now operating in the River Tees. Two other pa rts of the Tees Barrage suite of papers describe matters directly rele vant to the structural design, These are: part 3 (paper 10882), which describes the development of the steel arch bridge that crosses the ba rrage; part 6 (paper 10885), which lists the main hydraulic parameters with flows and water levels, and describes how the barrage is to be o perated.
