Abstract
The effects of magnetic interactions on the stability of recording media di spersions has been investigated. Variation of the pigment's magnetic conten t shows that increasing the interactions results in lower stability. This h as been interpreted in terms of hindered settling theory as being caused by clustering of the particles in suspension under the influence of magnetost atic attraction. As dispersion structure is important in the media manufact uring process, these investigations are continuing. (C) 1999 American Insti tute of Physics. [S0021-8979(99)67208-5].
