Abstract
A full identification method is outlined for the ten parameters of a bimoda l model for highly magnetostrictive material. In the model, magnetization a nd strain hysteresis loops are modeled as the superposition of twin hystere sis loops, shifted in critical field activation value by equal amounts in o pposite directions. Identification of the parameters for Terfenol-D and Ter zinol-D show that the model predicts the behavior of the Terfenol-D better than that of the Terzinol-D, where more low field reversible behavior is ev ident.
