Abstract
The active species for the liquid phase fluorination of tetrachloroethene ( PCE) was produced by in situ reaction between HF and SbCl5. By comparison w ith various commercial antimony mixed halides (SbCl4F, SbC3F2, SbCl3F2 and SbClF4), the active species, produced in situ in our conditions, could be c omposed by SbCl4F or/and SbCl3F2 or a mixture of both.
