Charge-transfer complex of C-60 with 1,1'-biferrocene(Bifc) was prepar
ed. The charge-transfer property was investigated by infrared and uv/v
is/nir spectroscopy. The charge-transfer process was studied in detail
by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. A complex reaction b
ehavior has been observed. Studies of variable temperature EPR in the
solid state show g-value shift as well as with peak-width change. A re
laxation with degradation process of this charge-transfer complex was
proposed. Magnetic studies conducted by SQUID magnetometer show that t
he magnetic behavior of these charge-transfer complexes could be descr
ibed as superposition of paramagnetic and ferromagnetic components. Th
e coercive forces and residual magnetizations of these complexes measu
red at low temperature are discussed.
