Abstract
Doped vanadium pentoxides with a doping ratio MN (M = Ag and Cu) ranging fr om 0.01 to 0.5 were synthesized. With the successful doping, the electronic conductivity of V2O5 was increased by two to three orders of magnitude. Th e electrochemical performance of the doped materials is very high. Up to 4 moles of lithium per mole of doped V2O5 Were found to be reversibly interca lated. The composite cathodes containing the doped materials also showed ve ry high intercalation rate performance. In addition, copper-doped V2O5 cath odes showed excellent reversibility upon cycling with no capacity fading af ter more than 450 cycles. (C) 1999 The Electrochemical Society.
