Conformational analysis of nitro substituted 4-en-3-one steroids has been f
urther investigated using high resolution 2D-NMR techniques. An attempt on
the preparation of 6 beta-nitrocholest-4-en-3-one resulted in a new trinitr
o steroid, 2,2,6 beta-trinitrocholest-4-en-3-one. These compounds have been
characterized using COSY, HETCOR, NOESY experiments and the probable pathw
ays to these products have been discussed.
