Abstract
alpha-Amino acids and their N-methyl derivatives pre synthesised in good op tical purity by the nucleophilic alkylation of chiral 3-N-benzyl-N-methylam inoperhydropyrrolo[2,1-c][1,4]oxazin-4-one (1). The chiral auxiliary, L-pro linol, is isolated In recyclable form.
