Brassinosteroids, new class of phytohormones

Brassinosteroids are a new class of phytohorm ones with their role as stres s and pathogenic disease resistance in plants as well as high plant growth promoting activity. Due to their availability in minute amounts from natura l sources and worldwide studies on the application of brassinosteroids for the enhancement of yields of variety of agricultural crops, there have been intensified research efforts towards the synthesis of this class of phytoh ormones. In this review, we have demonstrated our efforts towards the synth esis of brassinosteroids.
